The End is Nigh?

The lead story in the Wall Street Journal on Monday was that individual investors are finally getting on board this bull market en masse. And as most everyone knows, this has proven to be a contrarian indicator.

Meaning that the average individual investor has a terrible habit of hopping on bull markets just before they reach their zenith and head crashing back down.

So should we be worried about this?

Right now this is good news as extra cash comes off the sidelines to bid up stocks. Typically this phase of the bull cycle is good for an extra 10-20% boost. However, 6-12 months down the road history probably may repeat itself with this being a signal that the bull market has run its course.

For now, this is just putting more logs on an already brightly burning fire.
