Lockheed Martin Corp.’s (LMT - Free Report) business unit, Sikorsky, recently secured a modification contract for providing logistics support to the CH-53K helicopter. Work related to the deal is expected to completed by December 2025.
Valued at $74.1 million, the contract has been awarded by the Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, MD. Per the deal terms, Sikorsky will offer low rate initial production organic capability pilot repair material, technical publications and support equipment for the CH-53K aircraft.
Majority of work involved with this deal will be carried out in Shelton, CT.

The new heavy lifter allows the U.S. Marine Corps and international militaries to move troops and equipment from ship to shore, and to higher altitude terrains more quickly as well as effectively.
In line with its usual trend, third-quarter 2020 revenues at Lockheed Martin’s RMS unit increased a solid 8% year over year, with Sikorsky helicopter programs being the primary growth driver.
With the fiscal 2021 defense budget offering investment potential worth $57billion in Aircraft, including $1.5 billion for Sikorsky CH-53K, we expect Lockheed’s RMS unit to receive consistent order flows from Pentagon like the latest one. This, in turn, should maintain top-line growth for the unit in the coming days.
