Walmart (WMT) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

In the latest trading session, Walmart (WMT - Free Report) closed at $141.95, marking a -1.29% move from the previous day. This change lagged the S&P 500's 1.23% loss on the day. At the same time, the Dow lost 1.29%, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.34%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the world's largest retailer had gained 5.39% over the past month. This has outpaced the Retail-Wholesale sector's gain of 5.13% and the S&P 500's gain of 5.04% in that time.

Walmart will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release. In that report, analysts expect Walmart to post earnings of $1.47 per share.
