Read MoreHide Full Article

In a bid to expand its end-to-end line of security solutions, FLIR Systems, Inc. recently rolled out three high-performance security cameras—FLIR PT-Series HD, FLIR Quasar 4K fixed box camera and the FLIR Ariel 3MP corner camera. Further, the thermal imaging cameras and image sensor maker launched the latest version of its United flagship video management solution called FLIR United VMS 8.0.

Earlier this year, the company launched three new Exx-Series advanced thermal imaging cameras, two new compact M-Series marine thermal cameras and three product families of outdoor and tactical thermal imagers. The strategic product launches highlight the company’s scheme of introducing innovative products to expand its customer base and foray into new markets.

Over the past six months, FLIR Systems’ shares returned 16.7%, outperforming the Zacks categorized Electronics-Military Systems industry’s average gain of 10.6%. Further, the company’s earnings estimates moved north over the past two months, reflecting bullish analyst sentiment.

All the newly launched cameras are compatible with FLIR United VMS 8.0. A comprehensive enterprise-level video management solution, VMS 8.0, is capable of managing large and multi-location video operations. It is packed with a host of technologies including FLIR Latitude software, FLIR Horizon and FLIR Meridian network video recorders.

Furthermore, FLIR United VMS 8.0 can be integrated with third-party technologies and deployed in a wide range of applications ranging from small retailers to critical infrastructure. FLIR PT-Series HD is a dual-sensor camera system that has been designed to offer long-range perimeter intrusion detection. It can be integrated with major VMS software providers apart from United VMS 8.0. FLIR Quasar 4K fixed box is a multiple-resolution camera that is suitable for high-traffic areas, such as large venues and transportation hubs.

Finally, FLIR Ariel 3MP corner camera can offer ceiling-to-floor and wall-to-wall viewing for customers. Featuring built-in microphone for audio monitoring and discrete night vision illumination, it is ideal for use in prisons. The new cameras will be available globally in the second quarter of fiscal 2017.

FLIR Systems has been focusing on using its exclusive Lepton and Infrared Guided Measurement technology to grab a greater market share in the Instruments segment. Rapid market traction of Lepton camera cores and the success of Lepton-based products have helped the company enjoy substantial growth in recent times. We expect steady market traction of these products to help this Zacks Rank #2 (Buy) company bolster revenue growth, moving ahead.

Encouragingly, analysts revised the Zacks Consensus Estimate for 2017 earnings upward over the past 60 days, from $1.78 to $1.85 per share. This indicates that they are optimistic about the company’s prospects in the near future.
