ETFs in Focus on Intel's Disappointing Q2 Results, Upbeat View

Intel (INTC - Free Report) reported mixed second-quarter 2025 results, missing earnings estimates but lagging on revenues. The chipmaker offered an upbeat revenue outlook for the ongoing quarter. However, shares of INTC dropped 4.2% in after-market hours.

Intel Q2 Earnings in Focus

Intel reported second-quarter loss per share of 10 cents, against the Zacks Consensus Estimate of earnings of a penny and the year-ago earnings of 2 cents. Revenues were flat year over year at $12.9 billion but edged past the estimated $11.87 billion. Data center and AI and Intel Foundry revenues grew 4% and 3% respectively, while client computing revenues declined 3% (see: all the Technology ETFs here).

For the current quarter, Intel projects revenues of $12.6-$13.6 billion. The Zacks Consensus Estimate is pegged at $12.66 billion. The chipmaker is shifting focus to AI???centered products, core chip lines and a tighter, more agile organizational structure. As part of the restructuring, the company is cutting approximately 24,000 core jobs (15% of workforce), reducing headcount from 99,500 to 75,000 by year-end???as part of the restructuring. It is expected to generate $17???billion in cost savings for 2025, with a goal of non???GAAP operating expenses of $17???billion in 2025 and $16???billion in 2026.
