Key Takeaways

  • Nurix is advancing bexobrutideg into a phase III study for heavily pretreated CLL/SLL patients.
  • Roche's deal includes $700M upfront, 60% of development costs and shared U.S. profits and losses.
  • Nurix plans phase II studies in CSU and MS, broadening bexobrutideg beyond B-cell malignancies.

Nurix Therapeutics (NRIX - Free Report) continues to make steady progress with bexobrutideg, the company’s lead product candidate and primary clinical value driver. Nurix is developing bexobrutideg as an oral, brain-penetrant and highly selective Bruton’s tyrosine kinase (BTK) degrader for B-cell malignancies, with potential expansion into immunology and neurology.

Roche Deal Adds Value to Nurix’s Bexobrutideg

A key positive for the NRIX investment thesis is its global collaboration with Roche (RHHBY - Free Report) , which provides strong validation of bexobrutideg’s potential while helping offset the financial burden of late-stage development. The agreement is valued at up to $2.3 billion, including a $700 million upfront payment. Under the collaboration, Roche will fund 60% of development costs, while Nurix will contribute the remaining 40%. Both companies will co-commercialize bexobrutideg in the United States, with U.S. profits and losses shared equally. Roche will be responsible for commercialization outside the United States, while Nurix will be eligible for tiered royalties on future ex-U.S. sales.

The partnership therefore provides Nurix with access to Roche’s global resources and commercial capabilities while retaining meaningful economic participation in bexobrutideg’s potential success.

Year to date, shares of Nurix have risen 38.5% compared with the industry’s 7.4% growth.

Bexobrutideg Progress Strengthens NRIX’s CLL Opportunity

Nurix is advancing bexobrutideg across several stages of development, with the lead focus on relapsed/refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL).

The pivotal phase II DAYBreak CLL-201 study is enrolling patients with CLL who have progressed after treatment with a covalent BTK inhibitor, a BCL2 inhibitor and a non-covalent BTK inhibitor. Positive results could potentially support an accelerated approval pathway.

In August, the company enrolled the first patient in the global phase III DAYBreak CLL-306 study evaluating bexobrutidegversus the non-covalent BTK inhibitor pirtobrutinib, in heavily pretreated patients with relapsed/refractory CLL/SLL.Conducted in collaboration with Roche, the study marks an important transition for bexobrutideg into late-stage development.

Nurix plans to evaluate bexobrutideg in combination with venetoclax, with or without an anti-CD20 antibody, in both previously treated and newly diagnosed CLL patients.

NRIX’s Expansion Into Immunology & Neurology

Nurix is developing bexobrutideg for diseases outside cancer, which could increase its future market potential. Early studies suggest that the candidate can strongly reduce BTK activity in immune cells, blood and skin and may control immune responses better than traditional BTK inhibitors. The company is testing a new tablet version in healthy volunteers and plans to advance bexobrutideg into phase II studies for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Additional Pipeline Programs

Nurix has several additional clinical and preclinical programs that could contribute to future growth. Its pipeline includes NRX-0305, NX-1607, NRX-4972 and zelebrudomide. Among these programs, NX-1607 is being evaluated in early-stage studies for solid tumors, while zelebrudomide is being developed for relapsed/refractory B-cell malignancies.

Strategic Partnerships Add Potential Value

In addition to Roche, Nurix has collaborations with big pharmaceutical companies such as Sanofi (SNY - Free Report) , Gilead (GILD - Free Report) and Pfizer. Sanofi is advancing the STAT6 degrader NX-3911, while Gilead is developing the IRAK-4 degrader GS-6791 in a phase I study. Nurix retains rights to potentially share U.S. profits and participate in co-development for these programs after specified development milestones. The company is working with Pfizer on multiple preclinical degrader antibody-conjugate programs and received a $2 million milestone payment from Sanofi in the second quarter of 2026.
