Lucid Group, Inc. (LCID - Free Report) and Bolt, a leading European shared mobility platform, have entered into a strategic partnership to develop and deploy autonomous mobility services across Europe.

The partnership will combine Lucid’s software-defined vehicle technology with Bolt’s extensive European mobility data, operational infrastructure and industry expertise. The companies plan to develop and scale autonomous mobility services using vehicles based on Lucid’s upcoming Midsize platform. Bolt intends to deploy at least 25,000 fully autonomous vehicles across several European cities and countries, supporting its broader goal of having 100,000 autonomous vehicles on its platform by 2035.

As part of the collaboration, Lucid and Bolt will jointly develop an autonomous-driving system-ready vehicle platform from the product-development stage. The platform will be designed to support SAE Level 4 autonomous driving and is expected to incorporate NVIDIA Hyperion, a production-ready autonomous vehicle reference architecture that integrates high-performance computing with a standardized sensor suite.

The initiative will be led by Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions, Bolt’s dedicated autonomous-driving division responsible for co-designing, integrating and commercializing autonomous mobility services across Europe. Its responsibilities will span the entire process, from vehicle development to commercial deployment and operations.

At Lucid, the partnership will be managed by the newly established Lucid Technologies, which brings together the company’s artificial intelligence, advanced driver assistance systems, autonomous driving and broader digital capabilities. The unit is focused on further developing and commercializing Lucid’s technology solutions.

Lucid and Bolt also plan to collaborate with autonomous-driving technology providers, European regulators and policymakers to facilitate the safe, secure and scalable deployment of autonomous mobility services. By focusing on the European market, the partnership aims to address the region’s stringent vehicle, technology and regulatory requirements while supporting the broader adoption of autonomous transportation.
