Read MoreHide Full Article

Key Takeaways

  • TEM is expanding its cardiovascular portfolio with next-generation AI products for cardiac risk detection.
  • TEM's ECG-MR uses standard 12-lead ECGs to flag signs tied to moderate or severe mitral regurgitation.
  • TEM's ECG-PH analyzes 12-lead ECG data for pulmonary hypertension signs and provides a binary output.

Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have revolutionized the application of electrocardiography (ECG) in cardiovascular diagnostics. The AI-ECG analysis market size is expected to grow from $2.01 billion in 2025 to $2.40 billion in 2026 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19.3% (per the Business Research report).

Against this backdrop, Tempus AI (TEM - Free Report) is expanding its cardiovascular portfolio with a suite of next-generation AI products designed to identify patients at risk for complex cardiac conditions.

Tempus received 510(k) clearance from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Tempus ECG-MR, an AI product that analyzes standard 12-lead resting electrocardiograms (ECGs) to detect signs associated with undiagnosed moderate or severe mitral regurgitation (MR).

Additionally, Tempus AI received 510(k) clearance from the FDA for Tempus ECG-PH (pulmonary hypertension), an AI-enabled software device that analyzes standard 12-lead ECGs for signs associated with pulmonary hypertension. Tempus ECG-PH only analyzes ECG data and provides a binary output for interpretation.

Peer Update

GE HealthCare’s (GEHC - Free Report) new Advanced Imaging Solutions (AIS) segment combines the former Imaging and AVS businesses, linking CT, MR, molecular imaging, interventional systems, ultrasound, software and services under one operating structure. In second-quarter 2026, AIS generated $3.77 billion in revenues, up 5.0% organically, while segment EBIT margin rose 90 basis points to 13.9%. GEHC expects higher-margin AI-enabled new products in MR and CT, together with deeper clinical and commercial alignment, to support growth as the innovation cycle progresses.

iRhythm Holdings’ (IRTC - Free Report) platform is supported by more than 3 billion hours of curated ECG data, more than 12 million patient reports and an expanding clinical evidence base. During the second quarter of 2026, iRhythm expanded work with Desert Oasis Healthcare and signed two commercial agreements through Luum that combine predictive workflows with monitoring. Early pilot programs have shown more than 85% accuracy in identifying patients with clinically relevant arrhythmias before diagnosis. The productivity case also advanced after FDA clearance of iRhythm’s third-generation algorithm.
