Emil Frey France will combine Lucid's direct-to-consumer model with local partnerships.
European registrations were nearly flat at 256 in nine months, while third-quarter registrations fell 30.5%.
Lucid Group, Inc. (LCID - Free Report) plans to expand its European presence by opening its first retail and service locations in France in the first quarter of 2027. The luxury electric vehicle (EV) maker announced that its initial three partner locations are in the final stages of planning, with a broader network of more than 16 partner locations targeted by the end of 2027. The locations will support vehicle sales and after-sales service, allowing customers to explore and order its Lucid Air sedan and Lucid Gravity SUV.
Emil Frey France, an automotive distribution group, will support the expansion. The initiative marks another step in Lucid’s strategy of combining its direct-to-consumer model with partnerships to expand its retail and service footprint in Europe. Lucid has not yet disclosed the cities where the first three locations will open.
Lucid also plans to build awareness and generate customer interest ahead of the launch. Reservations are already available on its French website, with customers receiving priority when ordering opens. The company’s two current models will anchor its entry into the market. The Lucid Air offers a maximum range of up to 960 kilometers, while the Gravity SUV provides a range of up to 739 kilometers, based on the European WLTP testing cycle.
Lucid Expands France Network Amid Uneven European Sales
The planned expansion could improve customer access to Lucid’s vehicles and after-sales services in France. However, its European registration figures indicate that growth remains uneven. Per Electric Vehicles, nine-month registrations reached 256, up from 255 in the year-ago period, as third-quarter registrations declined 30.5% to 82. Germany accounted for 166 registrations in the first nine months, up 17.7% and representing 65% of the European total. Meanwhile, registrations across Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Norway fell 32.1% to 319 in 2025 from 470 in 2024.
By expanding its retail and service network in France, Lucid aims to broaden customer access to its vehicles, strengthen its local market presence and support its efforts to grow its European business.
