Read MoreHide Full Article

Key Takeaways

  • CoreWeave brings most of its planned 22.5 MW capacity online in Copenhagen, expanding its European footprint.
  • CoreWeave plans network deployments across seven markets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle East.
  • CoreWeave operates 51 data centers with over 1.5 GW of active power and nearly 4.2 GW of contracted power.

CoreWeave, Inc. (CRWV - Free Report) recently announced a broad expansion of its global AI cloud platform. The company has brought most of its planned 22.5 MW of IT capacity online at a data center in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is expanding its global AI network into the Middle East and Asia Pacific. The initiative is likely to strengthen its competitive position as AI adoption accelerates worldwide.

A major highlight of the announcement is CoreWeave' s first deployment in Denmark at North' s DEN 01 data center in Copenhagen. The European footprint will expand to nine data centers across Denmark, the United Kingdom, Spain, Sweden and Norway. The facility is powered by NVIDIA (NVDA - Free Report) Blackwell systems connected via NVIDIA Quantum- X 800 InfiniBand networking. This combination is designed to support demanding AI training and inference workloads, where computing performance and fast communication between processors are critical.

The global AI network expansion targets Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. CRWV plans to introduce new points of presence in the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, South Korea and Japan. The rollout is scheduled to begin later in the fourth quarter of 2026, with the network expected to form a full loop by mid-2027. This expansion will extend its existing network across North America and Europe to four continents. The network is purpose-built for AI workloads and combines multiple 400-gigabit-per-second connections at each point of presence, hardware-based MACsec encryption and redundant network paths. These features are intended to provide high bandwidth, secure data transmission and improved resilience.

CoreWeave' s planned network expansion across India, Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea and Australia could improve regional connectivity and help it serve customers with global operations and complex data requirements. In October, CRWV expanded in India with a 240 MW AI data center deal, betting on advanced NVIDIA infrastructure and rising AI demand to fuel growth. CoreWeave' s infrastructure scale strengthens its competitive position. Per management, as of June, it operated 51 data centers worldwide with more than 1.5 GW of active power. It also reported nearly 4.2 GW of contracted power on its Aug. 11 earnings call.
