T-Mobile Raises Profitability and Cash Flow Outlook

Chief financial officer Peter Osvaldik raised the 2026 core adjusted EBITDA forecast to $37.35-$37.45 billion, increasing the midpoint by $100 million. Adjusted free cash flow guidance rose to $18.7-$18.8 billion, a $150 million midpoint increase.

Management maintained expectations for approximately 1 million postpaid net account additions and capital expenditures of approximately $10 billion.

Osvaldik projected full-year service revenues of approximately $76.8 billion, representing 8% growth, while anticipating approximately 7% organic postpaid service revenue growth in the fourth quarter.

TMUS Builds Revenues Through Higher-Value Accounts

Chief executive officer Srini Gopalan emphasized balancing subscriber acquisition with customer value. Postpaid net account additions reached 274,000, while average revenue per account increased 4% year over year to $155.73.

Osvaldik raised full-year postpaid ARPA growth expectations to approximately 3.5%, compared with the previous 2.5-3% forecast.

During questioning from Barclays, Osvaldik attributed monetization gains to premium-plan adoption, deeper customer relationships and higher-value acquisitions. Approximately 60% of new account lines select premium plans, while incoming customers generate ARPU 20% above outgoing customers.

T-Mobile Maintains Confidence in Broadband Expansion

Gopalan reaffirmed confidence in reaching 15 million 5G broadband customers by 2030, highlighting improving average revenue per user and customer satisfaction.

Responding to MoffettNathanson's concerns about industrywide fixed wireless deceleration, chief marketing, brand and broadband officer André Almeida confirmed industry-leading fixed wireless net additions.

Management also highlighted fiber expansion, with approximately 20% penetration after 12 months. The company remains focused on reaching 3 million to 4 million fiber customers by 2030.

TMUS Accelerates Digital and AI-Driven Efficiency

Gopalan highlighted growing adoption of the T-Life application, which reached 32 million monthly active users. More than 80% of upgrades and approximately half of phone activations occurred digitally during the quarter.

Management continues pursuing its objective of reducing customer service calls by 75%, using AI-enabled assistance and proactive problem resolution.

Gopalan also described AI-driven network optimization and software development initiatives that improve operational efficiency while reducing technology costs.

T-Mobile Expands Network Intelligence Opportunities

Gopalan discussed the company's Kinetic Edge partnership with Amazon Web Services, combining advanced 5G connectivity with distributed computing infrastructure for physical AI applications.

During Evercore ISI's questioning, Gopalan explained that early monetization centers on integrated solutions rather than separately charging for connectivity and computing.

Chief technology officer John Saw highlighted encouraging AI-enabled spectrum efficiency trials. Saw identified uplink capacity as an important planning consideration as connected robots, autonomous machines and AI applications expand.

TMUS Prioritizes Spectrum Investment Over Buyback Expansion

Responding to Morgan Stanley, Osvaldik disclosed $10.3 billion in share repurchases through Oct. 23, exceeding the $9.9 billion completed during 2025.

However, he indicated that upcoming spectrum auctions in 2027 and 2028 could command a larger share of future capital allocation.

Gopalan reinforced disciplined spectrum valuation, emphasizing the need to compare purchases against network densification alternatives. Fiber acquisitions will similarly depend on attractive returns rather than expansion targets alone.

T-Mobile Balances Growth With Competitive Pressures

Management acknowledged fourth-quarter uncertainty surrounding promotional activity, higher device prices and staggered smartphone launches.
Osvaldik also anticipated seasonal churn increases and limited residual effects from rate-plan modernization.

Despite these pressures, executives maintained their emphasis on network differentiation, customer relationships and profitable account growth rather than pursuing subscriber volume independently.
