AdvanSix Inc. (ASIX - Free Report) has been selected to receive $47.4 million in proposed funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) under its Fertilizer Investment & Expansion for Long-Term Domestic Supply (FIELDS) program. The funding will be directed towards the advancement of Project CENTURY, a planned $98.1 million multi-year investment to modernize and expand ammonia manufacturing at the company's Hopewell facility.

The project is expected to add approximately 84,000 tons of annual ammonia production capacity, strengthening AdvanSix's integrated ammonia platform and expanding its supply of domestic fertilizers to American farmers. The investment will also improve manufacturing infrastructure, support approximately 1,000 skilled American manufacturing employees and enhance supply chain resilience.

The expansion builds on the facility's 100-year manufacturing history, fueling the development of the local agricultural economy. The company expects attractive financial returns from this multi-year investment, which is subject to long-term value creation objectives. The proposed funding remains subject to successful completion of the USDA's administrative and risk reviews.

Project CENTURY represents a strategic growth opportunity for AdvanSix, combining government support with targeted capacity expansion to strengthen its competitive position in domestic nitrogen fertilizer manufacturing by benefiting soybean producers and farm families in Virginia.
