  • CRCT's Products revenues rose 17%, while international sales grew 30% on innovation and launches.
  • Cricut expects its first annual revenue growth since 2021, but Q4 promotions could pressure product margins.

Cricut, Inc. (CRCT - Free Report) emphasized product launches, expanding international demand and improving customer engagement during its third-quarter 2026 earnings call. Management highlighted double-digit machine sell-out growth and continued subscription revenue gains.

Executives also outlined expectations for renewed annual revenue growth while cautioning that promotional activity, temporary margin benefits and consumer spending pressures could influence near-term profitability.

CRCT Expands Its Product Portfolio

CEO Ashish Arora identified product innovation as a central growth driver, highlighting the launches of Maker 5 and StickerPix, Cricut's first new connected machine category since 2014.

Connected machine sell-out increased in the double digits for the second consecutive quarter. Products revenues rose 17% year over year to $102.7 million, supported by launches and channel inventory replenishment.

During Goldman Sachs' questioning, CFO Kimball Shill acknowledged that StickerPix requires investment to establish its position. However, he emphasized manufacturing efficiencies across existing cutting machines and opportunities to reduce StickerPix production costs over time.

Cricut Strengthens Platform Engagement

Arora highlighted improvements in onboarding, educational content and AI-powered creative tools designed to encourage repeat use and strengthen subscription engagement.

Paid subscribers increased 2% year over year to 3.07 million, while active users reached nearly 6 million. However, 90-day engaged users remained approximately flat, underscoring the company's continuing focus on engagement.

Platform revenues increased approximately 4% to $85.9 million, while average revenues per user rose 3% to $56.70. Arora expects premium subscription offerings, personalized templates and additional AI capabilities to support further monetization.

CRCT Targets International Expansion

International revenues increased 30% year over year to $52.8 million, representing 28% of total revenues compared with approximately 24% a year earlier.

Shill highlighted strong connected machine sell-out growth across Asia and Latin America, alongside double-digit gains in established markets, including Europe and Australia.

During Morgan Stanley's questioning, Shill identified international expansion, product innovation and broader brand awareness as the primary drivers of growth beyond 2026. Arora added that newer products had limited availability in emerging markets during the quarter.

Cricut Expects Full-Year Revenue Growth

Shill expects Platform revenues and paid subscribers to increase both sequentially and year over year in the fourth quarter.

Management also anticipates sequential Products revenue growth, supported by positive early sell-out trends and subsequent retailer replenishment orders. Cricut expects its first full year of consolidated revenue growth since 2021.

However, Shill maintained a cautious assessment of consumer spending conditions. The fourth quarter remains the company's most promotional period, creating potential pressure on product profitability despite improving demand.

CRCT Faces Questions About Margin Sustainability

Cricut reported revenues of $188.6 million, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $173.70 million. Earnings of 13 cents per share surpassed the consensus estimate of 3 cents.

The gross margin expanded to 57.7% from 55.2%, while operating income increased 50% to $33.9 million.

During Goldman Sachs' questioning, Shill explained that inventory-related cost capitalization, excess inventory monetization and final tariff refunds supported margins. Responding to Barclays, he identified approximately $1 billion in annual revenues as an important threshold for achieving meaningful operating leverage.
