Read MoreHide Full Article

Key Takeaways

  • BOKF raised its quarterly dividend 24% to 78 cents per share, payable on Dec. 3, 2026.
  • BOKF offers a 1.93% dividend yield and has increased its dividend five times over the past five years.
  • BOKF's CET1 and total capital ratios reached 12.73% and 14.43%, respectively.

BOK Financial Corporation (BOKF - Free Report) announced that its board of directors approved a quarterly cash dividend of 78 cents per common share, representing an increase of 15 cents, or 24%, from the previous payout. The dividend will be paid out on Dec. 3 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 18, 2026.

Prior to the latest hike, the company raised its quarterly dividend by 10.6% to 63 cents per share in October 2025. Based on yesterday's closing price of $132.92, its current dividend yield stands at 1.93%. Over the past five years, the company has increased its dividend five times.

Apart from the dividend hike, BOKF continues to return capital through share repurchases. On July 29, 2025, the company's board authorized the repurchase of up to 5 million shares. Management continues to view share repurchases opportunistically within its capital framework. As of Sept. 30, 2026, nearly 2 million shares remained available for repurchase under the authorization.

Meanwhile, the company's capital position remains strong. In the third quarter of 2026, its Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) and total capital ratios stood at 12.73% and 14.43%, respectively, comfortably above the minimum requirements, including the capital conservation buffer, of 7% and 10.50%, respectively. These capital levels provide a substantial cushion and financial flexibility to support business growth and shareholder distributions.

However, the company's liquidity position appears limited compared with its debt levels. As of Sept. 30, 2026, its cash and cash equivalents totaled $1.27 billion, while total debt stood at $5.61 billion.

Supported by solid capital levels and consistent earnings generation, BOK Financial appears well-positioned to sustain its capital distribution activities. However, the company needs to maintain adequate liquidity levels and generate consistent earnings to support dividend growth and share repurchases over the long term.

How Do Other Firms Compare in Terms of Dividend Payouts?

It has also been a member of the S&P High Yield Dividend Aristocrats Index since January 2018. Bank OZK’s record liquidity of $1.2 billion as of Sept. 30, 2026, further supports shareholder distributions.
