Adjusted operating profit declined 0.9% to $677 million. Adjusted gross margin contracted 130 basis points to 35.5%, reflecting unfavorable pricing relative to cost inflation, partially offset by productivity savings.

Kimberly-Clark Begins Kenvue Integration

Chairman and chief executive officer Michael Hsu described the completed Kenvue acquisition as a defining milestone in the company's Powering Care transformation.

Management outlined a three-phase integration strategy covering initial operational continuity, establishing a growth foundation in 2027 and subsequently unlocking the combined company's longer-term potential.

Hsu emphasized maintaining uninterrupted operations while implementing organizational changes, integrating systems and improving brand performance. He identified marketing investment, innovation and category expansion as priorities.

KMB Targets Substantial Acquisition Synergies

Chief financial officer Nelson Urdaneta reiterated approximately $1.9 billion in anticipated cost synergies from the Kenvue transaction.

During the Q&A, an Evercore ISI analyst questioned the implementation timeline. Urdaneta explained that savings would come from overhead optimization, manufacturing and distribution efficiencies, procurement, and marketing and trade-spending improvements.

Hsu also highlighted geographic expansion opportunities, including leveraging Kenvue's distribution network in India and Europe. Management expects these capabilities to support broader brand availability over time.

Kimberly-Clark Reaffirms Its 2026 Outlook

Urdaneta reaffirmed the company's standalone 2026 outlook despite quarterly disruptions. Adjusted operating profit is expected to grow at a mid-single-digit rate on a constant-currency basis.

Adjusted earnings from continuing operations are projected to increase at a high-single-digit rate, while adjusted earnings attributable to Kimberly-Clark are expected to decline at a low-single-digit rate.

Responding to a Morgan Stanley analyst, management cited underlying business momentum, cost-mitigation initiatives and easier fourth-quarter comparisons as supporting factors.

KMB Addresses China and North American Pressures

International Personal Care organic sales declined 4.6%, reflecting significant disruption to the company's China diaper business.

During the Q&A, an Evercore ISI analyst questioned recovery prospects. Hsu explained that Chinese authorities had confirmed Huggies product safety following false allegations, although rebuilding consumer trust would require sustained investment.

In North America, a UBS analyst raised concerns about market-share performance. Hsu attributed softness partly to retailer inventory changes, delayed innovation and club-channel distribution losses, while highlighting continued strength in tissue products.

Kimberly-Clark Confronts Inflation and Cost Challenges

Urdaneta projected approximately $250 million in full-year gross inflationary impacts, including approximately $200 million during the second half.

Responding to a Bank of America analyst, he identified higher North American freight costs as a significant contributor. Third-quarter gross productivity reached 5.8%, helping mitigate inflationary pressures.

Management also emphasized opportunities from the Arbex joint venture with Suzano, including cost containment and productivity improvements. Continued pricing discipline and operational efficiencies remain central to its margin strategy.

KMB Prioritizes Execution and Sustainable Growth

Hsu emphasized that the combined company's immediate priorities are integration execution, synergy delivery and strengthening existing brands.

Management expects 2027 adjusted earnings dilution of no more than mid-single digits relative to standalone Kimberly-Clark, followed by improved earnings growth through 2028.

The company's strategic direction centers on reinvesting efficiency gains into innovation, marketing and broader consumer health opportunities while maintaining operational discipline.

Kimberly-Clark's Zacks Rank and Style Scores Signal Caution
