United Continental Holdings, Inc.’s (UAL - Free Report) wholly-owned subsidiary — United Airlines — has launched non-stop flights connecting the San Francisco International Airport to the capital of Tahiti, Pape’ete. The flights, operational since Oct 30, will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday respectively, from San Francisco.
Notably, this non-stop service is the only one operating between these two destinations. The recently-initiated service to Tahiti provides access to the Islands of French Polynesia including Mo'orea, Bora Bora, the Marquesas and Rangiroa. In fact, United Airlines and United Express operate more than 250 daily flights to 90 destinations from the San Francisco International Airport.
Moreover, the carrier has decided to extend the current seasonal service between the destinations to a year-round one from Mar 30, 2019. United Airlines will utilize Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft for the year-round flights that will operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
We note that United Airlines is constantly making efforts to expand services. To this end, the carrier recently announced its decision to operate daily non-stop service throughout the year to Amsterdam. The flights are likely to be operational from Mar 30, 2019. Also, the carrier will continue to operate non-stop flights to Zurich from San Francisco during summer in 2019.
