Facebook (FB) Dips More Than Broader Markets: What You Should Know

Facebook closed at $170.18 in the latest trading session, marking a -1.84% move from the prior day. This change lagged the S&P 500's 0.09% loss on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow gained 0.03%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq lost 0.16%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the social media company had gained 5.67% over the past month. This has outpaced the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 4.21% and the S&P 500's gain of 2.35% in that time.

Wall Street will be looking for positivity from FB as it approaches its next earnings report date. The company is expected to report EPS of $1.63, down 3.55% from the prior-year quarter.
