Twitter (TWTR) Outpaces Stock Market Gains: What You Should Know

Twitter closed at $34.38 in the latest trading session, marking a +1.87% move from the prior day. This change outpaced the S&P 500's 0.22% gain on the day. Elsewhere, the Dow gained 0.15%, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq added 0.6%.

Prior to today's trading, shares of the short messaging service had gained 8.77% over the past month. This has outpaced the Computer and Technology sector's gain of 4.32% and the S&P 500's gain of 2.39% in that time.

TWTR will be looking to display strength as it nears its next earnings release, which is expected to be April 23, 2019. The company is expected to report EPS of $0.14, down 12.5% from the prior-year quarter.
