This looks to reflect the price of silver bullion, less the expenses of the Trust. Silver is held in secure vaults in London and third-party inspection is performed twice a year on the assets. The product is a precious metal that has a number of uses in society. Not only is it an inflation hedge, but silver is also a vital metal for jewelry and industrial purposes as well.
