Dec 14, 2012 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- BUYINS.NET / www.buyins.net, announced today its proprietary Market Maker Friction Factor Report for Thursday. Since October 2008 market makers are now required to be on the bid as much as they are on the offer and for like amounts of stock. This Fair Market Making Requirement is designed to prevent market makers from manipulating stock prices. On Thursday there were 3926 companies with "abnormal" market making, 2066 companies with positive Friction Factors and 3800 companies with negative Friction Factors. Here is a list of the top companies with the largest percentage gain per share Thursday and low price friction (bullish). This means that there was more buying than selling in the stocks and their stock prices rose faster with less Friction. Stereotaxis Inc (NASDAQ:STXS), Best Buy Co Inc (NYSE:BBY), Parametric Sound Corp (NASDAQ:PAMT), SuperMedia Inc (NASDAQ:SPMD), AVT Inc (OTC:AVTC), Trovagene Inc (NASDAQ:TROV). To access Friction Factor, Naked Short Data and SqueezeTrigger Prices on all stocks please visit http://www.buyins.net .
Market Maker Friction Factor is shown in the chart below:
Symbol Change Percent Buy Volume Buy %% Sell Volume Sell %% Net Volume Friction
STXS $0.350 21.21% 88,666 53.33% 74,191 44.62% 14,475 414
BBY $1.940 15.93% 13,992,793 31.87% 13,638,036 31.06% 354,757 1,829
PAMT $1.070 20.11% 68,467 70.13% 28,689 29.39% 39,778 372
SPMD $0.700 26.03% 176,731 53.98% 150,697 46.02% 26,034 372
AVTC $1.800 83.72% 104,265 15.05% 73,115 10.55% 31,150 173
TROV $0.910 18.57% 141,580 58.69% 98,054 40.65% 43,526 478
Analysis of the Friction Factor chart above shows that each of the six stocks mentioned above have high net buy volumes (buy volume, sell volume) and low price friction in their stocks. The Friction Factor displays how many more shares of buying than selling are required to move a stock higher by one cent or how many more shares of selling than buying moves a stock lower by 1 cent.
For example, the chart above shows STXS with a dollar gain Thursday of $0.35000 and a Friction Factor of 414 shares. That means that it only took 414 more shares of buying than selling to move STXS higher by one penny. The Market Makers are currently allowing the stock to rise quickly (low friction). The combination of low friction and positive market direction can drive prices higher much faster than normal.
