Chemical company Celanese Corporation’s (CE - Analyst Report) Nutrinova business has joined its single, unified new brand – Celanese – The chemistry inside innovation”. This transition falls under Celanese’s process of transitioning each of its businesses under the Celanese brand, which started back in Oct 2013.

To date, five out of six of Celanese’s businesses have successfully undergone a complete transition. The transition of the Nutrinova business completes the company’s transition of all its businesses into one unified brand.

Celanese’s shares gained 3% during the trading session following the release of the news.

Celanese's Nutrinova business is a premier producer of potassium sorbates and sorbic acid and the inventor of acesulfame potassium. Nutrinova has been in the business for over five decades as an innovative solution provider for all sweetening and preservation requirements.

Considering the sensitivity to the complexities of the food and beverage industries, Celanese has taken time to smoothly undergo the transition process so that its customers embrace its new brand. Celanese is committed to provide the highest quality of food ingredients to its customers and also create customer value through innovation and collaboration.

Celanese assures that its products -- Sunett sweetener, Nutrinova sorbates, and the latest innovation, the Qorus sweetener system -- will not compromise on quality with this transition. The company will continue to keep its collaborative and innovative partnerships with the customers by providing them with the authentic tastes of Celanese sweeteners without disturbing the benefits of low- and no-calorie food and beverages, which are received from the sweetener blends of the food ingredients products.

Celanese’s food ingredients manufacturing facilities will continue to operate in Frankfurt, Germany, at the Industrial Park Hoechst, and will exceed global food quality standards. The company will also continue to leverage the commercial success of its Qorus sweetener system launched in Jun 2013, with ongoing projects across the globe. Qorus products mainly target the flavored milk and yogurt sectors.

Celanese currently carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).

Other companies in the chemical industry worth considering include Methanex Corp. (MEOH - Analyst Report), PPG Industries Inc. (PPG - Analyst Report) and The Dow Chemical Co. (DOW - Analyst Report), all of which carry a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
