Starwood Hotels Returns to Okinawa with Sheraton Okinawa

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the opening of Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort, located on Sunmarina Beach on the Okinawa main island. Okinawa is the largest island among the Okinawa and Ryukyu Islands of Japan. The hotel is owned and managed by Ishin Hotels Group.

The resort’s guestrooms and public areas were extensively redecorated. Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina Resort also added a South Wing comprising additional 46 rooms, along with various new features like a wellness center, indoor pool, gym, communal bath, family bath, spa and a beachside café, as well as a restaurant and a chapel for wedding ceremonies. Further, the hotel will offer dining and meeting spaces by Dec 2016.

With as many as 200 rooms, Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina offers amenities and services like a premium sleep experience and a rain shower, as well as balconies with scenic views of the East China Sea. The resort also features a fully revamped lobby with open spaces.

Moreover, the hotel has an all-day restaurant that serves both local and multi-cuisine dishes. Further, Sheraton Okinawa Sunmarina has a modern indoor area featuring a vast ballroom, smaller meeting rooms and an area for other events.

The resort is a short distance away from Naha Airport, and provides easy access to Okinawa’s famed attractions like Churaumi Aquarium, heritage places, golf courses and the oceanographic institute and among others.

Okinawa is frequented by travelers for its tropical climate, pristine white sand beaches and picturesque coral reefs. The popular island destination offers thrilling marine activities including blue cave snorkel tour, glass bottom boat cruise and sunset cruises. Starwood is looking to cash in on the demand for tourism in this popular island.
