Read MoreHide Full Article
Intel Corporation (INTC - Free Report) owned Intel Security has announced the addition of 24 new partners to its extensive partner ecosystem through the Intel Security Innovation Alliance, further strengthening its security solutions portfolio.
With an innovative open architecture modeled by more than 150 partners spread across 12 global markets, Intel Security Innovation Alliance is leading the way forward for security solutions.
McAfee Data Exchange Layer is an open yet secure platform. This technology forms a key component of the Intel Security platform. It facilitates communication between multivendor security products, thereby paving the way for building customized and innovative solutions.
Apart from McAfee Data Exchange Layer, other solutions built as part of the Intel Security Innovation Alliance are expected to analyze data in a more efficient manner, thereby providing timely and actionable intelligence to an organization. This will translate to better functioning of the information security resources, which in turn can utilize their time to address the high-priority issues.
Security Solutions
We note that Intel is reportedly looking to divest its McAfee end point security business becaus of its dependence on the shrinking PC market.
However, Intel has shifted its focus on building security in a cloud-focused, IoT and mobile focused world. Given the fact that the cloud security market is still in its nascent stage and operational standards are still under development, Intel’s move to create a platform wherein independent and specialized security solutions can talk to each other is a smart move.
Financials
We note that Intel Security Group recorded revenues of $537 million in the first quarter of 2016, which was up 5% sequentially and 12% on a year-over-year basis.
Zacks Rank
At present, Intel has a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy).
Some better-ranked stocks in the broader technology sector are NVIDIA Corp. (NVDA - Free Report) , Box, Inc. (BOX - Free Report) and Adobe Systems Inc. (ADBE - Free Report) , each sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
