Revenues: Revenues were $10.32 billion, up 4.3% from the year-ago quarter. However, revenues lagged the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $10.46 billion.

Key Stats: As of Jun 30, 2016, HCA operated 169 hospitals and 116 freestanding surgery centers. The company repurchased 15.506 million shares of its common stock at a cost of $1.24 billion during the quarter. At Jun 30, 2016, HCA had approximately $746 million remaining under the existing $3 billion authorization.
 

Major Factors: Same facility equivalent admissions increased 1.6%, while same facility admissions increased 0.6% in the quarter. Same facility revenue per equivalent admission increased 2.1%.

Stock Price: Shares are down almost 0.23% in early trading.
