Chicago, IL—March 13, 2017—Zacks Investment Research is a leading provider of investment-related data, research, and commentary. Each week, several of the company’s analysts and editors publish exclusive podcasts that highlight some of the financial world’s top stories and provide investors with a variety of strategies based on Zacks’ proven stock-picking methods.

Friday Finish Line with Ryan McQueeney and Maddy Johnson

On Episode #39 of the Zacks Friday Finish Line Podcast, Content Writer Ryan McQueeney and Editor Maddy Johnson take on this week’s biggest stories, including the current state of the IPO market in the wake of Snap’s historic debut.

Before that, the hosts touched on the recent volatility in the oil market, which has caused some to question whether OPEC will continue its production cuts; Facebook’s new Snapchat clone, Messenger Day; and the federal investigation surrounding Caterpillar (CAT - Free Report) .

Finally, Maddy and Ryan chatted about the IPO market in the wake of Snap Inc.’s (SNAP - Free Report) massive debut. Investors are thirsty for more initial public offerings, and there might just be a few more this year. For example, the hosts discussed Spotify and Airbnb, which could be IPO candidates soon.

In the meantime, companies like J. Jill (JILL - Free Report) and Canada Goose are choosing to go public right now. Maddy and Ryan also discussed why these brands are choosing IPOs and what they can both do to continue growing.

The Dutram Report with Eric Dutram

On Episode #13 of The Dutram Report, Eric Dutram is joined by Michael Willis, the lead portfolio manager of INDEX Funds. His key product, the Index Funds S&P 500 Equal Weight (INDEX - Free Report) , takes the same S&P 500 stocks, but invests in them equally.

In the actual S&P 500, Apple (AAPL - Free Report) accounts for about 4% of the total, while Microsoft (MSFT - Free Report) makes up about 2.5% of the weighted index. This fund covers the same companies, but each one takes up about 0.2% of the total.

Together, Eric and Michael discussed how this small change can actually make a big difference to overall returns. Michael argued that the equal weight fund is a much more balanced way to achieve exposure, and its own fact sheet shows that this approach has outperformed the market over long periods of time.

Shopping for Stocks with Maddy Johnson

On Episode #3 of Shopping for Stocks, Maddy Johnson takes a look at what could be one of the most interesting IPOs in years: Canada Goose.

Canada Goose is a designer and manufacturer of high-end parkas, down coats, and cold-weather accessories. The company is hoping to raise as much as $240 million by listing 20 million shares in both New York and Toronto.

Maddy discussed Canada Goose’s products and popularity, as well as its standing in today’s unfriendly retail environment.
