ATM and POS manufacturer, NCR Corporation , has been awarded a new restaurant deal. The company recently won a deal from Japanese Restaurant and Jazz venue, Yoshi for its restaurant operations transformation. The financial details of the deal were not divulged.

Per the deal, the Japanese Restaurant will implement NCR’s point-of-sale (POS) platform which will not only help Yoshi modernize its outlets but also enhance customers’ experience by reducing transaction time. Further, with NCR Aloha Mobile deployment, Yoshi will experience less start-up and monthly costs.

This POS solution mobile application helps restaurant operators and owners solve everyday issues while offering improved visibility into the operational performance of the restaurant. Yoshi believes that once fully implemented the POS solution will maximize the effectiveness of its managers.

About Aloha Mobile Solution

NCR Aloha Mobile solution is actually an addition to its suite of Aloha Table-Service POS solutions targeting the restaurant industry.

The Aloha Table Service POS solution helps restaurant staff take orders and execute them faster. The solution also helps process bill payment faster, thus cutting down on waiting time for patrons. With Aloha Table Service, customer retention, acquisition of new customers, streamlined operations/food services and staff training becomes simpler for restaurant owners.

Aloha Mobile software reduces dependence on POS terminals for running the Table Service software. The software can be downloaded on any hardware mobile platform such as Apple Inc.’s (AAPL - Free Report) iPad, iPhone, iPod, as well as any of the NCR’s Orderman devices. Aloha Mobile will make restaurant staff more mobile, simplify credit card payments and save floor space.

NCR inherited the Alohas product suite through the acquisition of Radiant Systems Inc., a provider of hardware and software systems for the restaurant and hotel industry for $1.2 billion in cash in Jul 2011. Radiant acquired Aloha Technologies, a provider of point-of-sale systems for the hospitality industry, in 2004.

Benefits

According to Don Zimmerman, general manager at NCR Hospitality, “As the leader in hospitality technology, we want to make everyday easier for restaurant operators with the best possible software solutions for their business to help increase revenues and bottom line results.”

The demand for NCR’s POS solution is increasing among retailers and restaurant owners as it facilitates the automation of bill payment and accounting. As a result, managers get ample time for customer interaction, leading to increased productivity.

We believe that using this technology, restaurant owners can improve customer satisfaction to a considerable extent. Right from increasing operational efficiency of the restaurants to managing food retail outlets, NCR has been instrumental in offering value added solutions to its clients.

Last Words

NCR’s growing exposure in the ATM and self-service kiosk space is encouraging, given the tremendous prospects in the respective markets. Continuous product launches, growing popularity of its self-service offerings and synergies from acquisitions are the catalysts. Continuous deal wins also drive growth.

Softness in the ATM business in mature markets, competition from Diebold Inc. (DBD - Free Report) and HP Inc. (HPQ - Free Report) and a high debt burden remain concerns.

The stock has outperformed the Zacks categorized Computer-Integrated Systems industry in the past one year. NCR’s shares have returned 25.69%, compared with the industry’s decline of 1.95%.

Currently, NCR carries a Zacks Rank #2 (Buy). You can see the complete list of today’s Zacks #1 (Strong Buy) Rank stocks here.
