Hawaiian Holdings (HA) Beats Earnings and Revenue Estimates

Hawaiian Holdings, Inc. (HA - Free Report) just released its latest quarterly financial results, posting adjusted earnings of $1.09 per share and revenues of $665.4 million.

Currently, HA is a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), but that could change based on today’s results. Shares of the company have gained about 9.3% over the past month, but lost about 0.8% during regular trading hours today.

The stock is currently up 1.5% to $39.50 per share in after-hours trading shortly after its earnings report was released. Investors should note that HA recently adopted a new accounting standard, which may skew some previous results and estimate comparisons.

Hawaiian:

Beat earnings estimates.The company posted adjusted earnings of $1.09 per diluted share, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $0.82 per share. Investors should note that this consensus projection has trended upward over the duration of the quarter.

Beat revenue estimates.The company saw revenue figures of $665.4 million, beating our consensus estimate of $652.4 million.

The company saw  year-over-year growth of 9.8% and 5.9% in revenue and adjusted income, respectively.

 “Despite an uptick in competitive capacity in the first quarter, we generated more revenue and carried more guests than any first quarter in our history. No one should be surprised that Hawaiian rose to the challenge. My colleagues on the ground and in the air are without peer,” said CEO Peter Ingram.

Hawaiian Airlines expects ASMs in the second quarter to be up 5% to 7%, with operating revenue per ASM coming in flat to up 3%. In the full year, the company expects ASMs to be up 5% to 8%.
