Telecom firm AT&T Inc (T - Analyst Report) unveiled plans to roll out smartphones – BlackBerry Z10 and BlackBerry Q10 – and aims to bring in more customers under its wings.

The fastest and most upgraded BlackBerry smartphone till date, the BlackBerry Z10 will be offered to customers with a re-vamped, re-engineered and re-enhanced BlackBerry 10 platform. These smartphones, with a touchscreen keyboard, will have advance features that adapt smoothly to a customer’s requirements rendering a unique mobile experience. The other offering – BlackBerry Q10 – displays the traditional QWERTY keyboard.

AT&T – the first wireless firm to offer BlackBerry smartphones and services in the U.S. – will have BlackBerry Z10 run on 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE). These new BlackBerry 10 platform smartphones will have all prime BlackBerry features plus a rehashed version of Research In Motion Limited’s superior emailing facility, a quicker browser application and simple accessibility to messages in the BlackBerry hub.

San Antonio, Texas based AT&T is the second largest provider of wireless services in North America after Verizon Communications (VZ - Analyst Report) and has the biggest 4G network in the U.S., covering nearly 288 million people. With attractive services plans and well-connected 4G LTE network, AT&T expects to lure new customers and gift them with a seamless communication experience.

Leading Canadian telecom service provider Telus Corporation (TU - Analyst Report) also launched the BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in the nation’s markets. The handsets will be made available to customers for $149 for a period of three years with a minimum monthly plan of $50 before tax or $650 per month.

AT&T currently holds a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold). We are optimistic about AT&T’s growth prospects, driven by subscriber accretion, higher smartphones adoption, LTE mobile broadband network, iPhone sales and U-verse expansion that will lead to improved revenue growth.
