Specialty retailer of high quality food products, The Fresh Market, Inc (TFM - Snapshot Report) has announced the appointment of Jeffrey Ackerman as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Executive Vice President, with effect from Jun 3, 2013. Ackerman is replacing Lisa Klinger, who resigned in Nov 2012 to join a similar position with a private equity-backed apparel retailer.
Ackerman will be responsible for the company's financial functions including accounting, audit, information technology, investor relations, tax, and financial planning and analysis.
Notably, Ackerman held various executive positions at several top companies in his 25-year career. In addition, Fresh Market’s management is confident of its appointment of Ackerman, considering his exhaustive experience in consumer-oriented companies. Fresh Market expects Ackerman’s financial and operational skills to boost bottom-line growth and thus benefit the company’s clients and shareholder value.
