Company Description
Antofagasta plc is a Chilean-based copper mining group with interests in transport and water distribution. Its focus is on mining deposits and it seeks to realise value principally by developing and operating such deposits in order to produce copper and related by-products. The Mining division owns and operates copper mines in Los Pelambres, El Tesoro, Michilla, and Esperanza. It produces copper concentrates, molybdenum concentrates, and copper cathodes. The Transport division engages in the transportation of copper cathodes and sulphuric acid to mines in the Antofagasta region and quicklime from cement plants to various mines. The Water division distributes water in the Antofagasta region and provides sewage and treatment services. It supplies water to domestic customers, as well as serves mines and other industrial users. Antofagasta plc is based in London, the United Kingdom.
