DIRECTV is a provider of digital multichannel television entertainment in the United States and Latin America. The Company operates in two direct-to-home (DTH) segments, DIRECTV U.S. and DIRECTV Latin America, which are differentiated by their geographic location. These are engaged in acquiring, promoting, selling and/or distributing digital entertainment programming via satellite to residential and commercial subscribers. In addition, the Company owns and operates regional sports networks, or RSNs, and owns interest in Game Show Network, LLC, or GSN, a basic television network dedicated to game-related programming and Internet interactive game playing. DIRECTV offers its customers HD channels and Dolby-Digital? 5.1 theater-quality sound (when available), access to exclusive sports programming such as NFL SUNDAY TICKET, and many more. The Company is based in El Segundo, California.
