Jobs Data Holds the Key for Stocks

Tuesday was another odd rotation day with great divergence between large and small caps. This was most apparent from the +0.61% gain for the large cap laden Dow vs. the -0.48% loss for the small cap centric Russell 2000. This trend is not likely to continue if stocks move higher because historically:

new highs = new era of greater risk taking = small caps the better place to be

The next leg for the market will be determined by the strength of the monthly jobs reports. That starts with ADP on Wednesday followed by the Government report on Friday.
