United States Cellular Corp. (USM - Free Report) , the fifth-largest regional wireless service provider, has been keeping up with the recent wireless trend of raising prices and adding data with the introduction of new Shared Connect plans. U.S. Cellular has launched a new pack of Shared Connect plans which offer more data, larger allotments and new tools to track data usage. The plan is being offered on its high-quality network that keeps customers connected irrespective of the area the customer is localized in.

What are Shared Connect Plans?

Shared Connect Plans are a pool of data divided among multiple wireless devices – one person with many devices or many people, each with one device. So be it a family with multiple devices or a business professional, there’s variety of data plans to fulfill everyone’s demand.

Prospects of the Shared Connect Plan

The new Shared Connect plan is accompanied with unlimited offerings in relation to calling and texting and customers are also given an option to change their plan as per convenience. The new plans offer 2GB for $30 a month instead of 1GB for $25, 4GB for $45 per month versus 3GB for $40, 8GB for $60 a month against 6GB for $55,16GB for $80 per month instead of 12GB for $80 and 24GB for $100 per month versus 15GB for $90.

Customers opting for 16GB plans and above will get unlimited calling and texting to friends, family and businesses in Canada and Mexico and data usage controls which will limit the amount of data each account can use. The same is available at $10 per month on plans of 8GB and below and for data usage control services, the customer will be charged $4.99 per month. However, there’s an associated access fee — $20 per line per month – for smartphones, routers and hot spots and $10 for tablets.

Benefits of the Shared Connect Plan

These plans are designed to suit the needs of all types of customers. Moreover, each plan offers unlimited domestic calling and texting with the option to add multiple lines. The company also guarantees that their customers can use limitless data on phones, tablets and connected devices without the fear of exceeding data plans. Also, the devices will be connected to an advanced 4G LTE network all around the world.

Similar Unlimited Offers

Last week, T-Mobile US (TMUS - Free Report) and Sprint Corp. (S - Free Report) came up with similar unlimited offerings – T-Mobile’s ‘T-Mobile One’ plan for $70 a month, replacing their prior $95 unlimited plan and Sprint’s ‘Unlimited Freedom’ plan at $60 instead of $75 per month. Meanwhile, U.S. wireless carriers like AT&T Inc. (T - Free Report) have revised rates from $20 for 300 MB to $30 for 1 GB for the smallest data plan and Verizon Communications Inc. (VZ - Free Report) has increased rates by $5 to $10 per data plan.
