Don't Forget About These Other 3 New Google Devices

Google (GOOGL - Free Report) was extraordinarily efficient with its hardware-announcing event on Tuesday. The technology giant unveiled a plethora of new devices in one fell swoop as it begins to usher in the next generation of hardware and software interaction.
While most people will be talking about Google’s new (and first ever!) smartphone line, the Pixel and Pixel XL, or its new Amazon (AMZN - Free Report) Echo home-automation competitor, the Google Home, the event also featured several less-hyped devices that should not be forgotten.
One of these is Google’s first headset for its Daydream VR platform: the “Daydream View.” The stylish virtual-reality device will be compatible with any Daydream-supported phone and is designed to be “soft and cozy.”
The Daydream view is made of a cloth-like fabric material. Google apparently worked with clothing designers to come up with the design, and the device’s tiny remote control can be stashed away in a small slot in the front of the View.
Google Street View, YouTube, and Google Photos will all work on the headset, which will go on sale in November for just $79.
Google also announced its latest Chromecast update: Chromecast Ultra. The Ultra maintains Chromecast’s circular design, but the upgraded product now features an Ethernet port integrated into the power adapter. The new device will now support HDR, Dolby Vision, and 4K streaming. Chromecast Ultra will sell for $69 with preorders beginning in November and shipments starting in December.
Finally, Google also announced its first router: Google Wifi. With a sleek, white, hockey puck-like design, Google Wifi is the company’s individual entrance into routers after a partnership with OnHub last year.
Google Wifi will be a multi-point network, allowing users to place multiple devices throughout the house. As one moves around, the system manages your connection and makes sure you are connected to the strongest signal possible. Users can also control their Wifi through a mobile app; in the event demo, Google showed off a parent’s ability to kick their kids off the connection with the push of a button.
Today marks a big moment for Google as the company begins its transition into a new generation of devices that will all work together and with its new Google Assistant software.
