Ventas (VTR) Announces 6% Increase in Quarterly Dividend

Much to the delight of the shareholders, the board of directors of Ventas, Inc. (VTR - Free Report) announced a hike in fourth-quarter 2016 dividend from that of prior payment. It is to be noted that at the time of declaring its previous dividend in August, the company revealed that it intends to raise its dividend in fourth-quarter 2016.
The new dividend of 77.5 cents per share marks an increase of 6% from that of earlier payment. It will be paid in cash on Dec 30, 2016 to stockholders on record as of Dec 20. This increase is in sync with the Chicago, IL-based healthcare real estate investment trust’s strategy of continuing with its track record of attractive dividend growth.
Ventas is primarily engaged in the acquisition and ownership of seniors housing and healthcare properties, and leasing them to unaffiliated tenants or operating them through independent third-party managers. Currently Ventas carries a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
For the current year, Ventas’ estimates moved up 0.2% to $4.12 per share over the past 30 days.
Year to date, the company’s share price moved up 10.2%, whereas this rise for the Zacks categorized REIT and Equity Trust Other industry was 3.7%.
Seritage Growth Properties’ current-year funds from operations (“FFO”) estimates have moved up 0.9% to $2.34 per share over the past 60 days.
DCT Industrial Trust’s current-year FFO estimates have moved up 2.3% over the past 60 days to $2.24 per share.
American Tower Corporation’s current-year FFO estimates have moved up 1.1% over the past 60 days to $5.55 per share.
