GoPro (GPRO) Stock Plummets on Weak Sales, Horrible Guidance

GoPro (GPRO - Free Report) just released its fourth-quarter fiscal 2016 earnings results, posting adjusted earnings of $0.16 per share and revenue of $540.6 million.  

GPRO was down 12.94% to $9.55 in after-hours trading shortly after its earnings report was released.

Beat earnings estimates. The company posted earnings of 16 cents per share (excluding 98 cents per share), beating our Zacks Consensus Estimate of 12 cents per share. The company experienced a GAAP loss of $116 million, or $0.82 loss per diluted share.

Missed revenue estimates. The company saw revenue figures of $540.6 million, falling well short of our estimate of $576 million.  

GoPro's fourth quarter combined digital camera/camcorder unit share increased over 400 basis points year-over-year to 26.7% in the U.S

For the first quarter, GoPro expects revenue of around $200 million, +/- $10 million. Our current consensus estimate calls for revenues of $267.64 million.

GoPro, Inc. engages in producing wearable HD camcorders, known as action cameras and related accessories. It also curates videos shot on its cameras and broadcasts those videos on its own channel on YouTube, Xbox Live and Virgin Atlantic flights. The company offers HERO line of cameras, premium accessories, mounts comprising equipment-based mounts, and it recently debuted its first drone.
