PPG Industries, Inc. (PPG - Free Report) recently launched TESLIN ENVOS substrate, a synthetic paper designed to deliver improved performance and a lower carbon footprint. Developed with 30% bio-based content, the new product offers up to a 25% reduction in cradle-to-gate carbon footprint compared with PPG TESLIN SP1000 substrate, while using the company's microporous technology.

PPG, which is among the prominent players in the specialty chemicals space along with The Sherwin-Williams Company (SHW - Free Report) , Celanese Corporation (CE - Free Report) and Ashland Inc. (ASH - Free Report) ,offers TESLIN ENVOS as a sustainable alternative that can be applied to government IDs, passports, durable and specialty labels, radio-frequency identification (RFID) labels and identification cards. It features enhanced brightness, tear and puncture resistance, tensile strength and flexibility.

The launch underscores PPG's focus on innovation and sustainable product development, enabling customers to advance carbon-reduction goals without compromising on performance or making processing adjustments.

PPG TESLIN ENVOS is manufactured at a facility where the company applies purchased renewable electricity credits. Initially, the substrate is available in a 10-mil thickness, with additional options planned for development. The launch further strengthens PPG's circular portfolio, which also includes standard-grade TESLIN substrate and TESLIN Bio substrate.

PPG, in July, said that it expects third-quarter 2026 organic sales growth to range from a low-single-digit to a mid-single-digit percentage. The company projects adjusted EBITDA margin to range from flat to down 100 basis points year over year. Performance Coatings organic sales are expected to rise by a mid-single-digit to high-single-digit percentage, supported by aerospace demand and an anticipated stabilization in automotive refinish. For full-year 2026, PPG reaffirmed its adjusted earnings guidance of $7.7-$8.1 per share.

Another industry leader, Sherwin-Williams, for the third quarter of 2026, expects consolidated net sales to increase by a mid- to high-single-digit percentage year over year. SHW expects demand softness to continue during the second half based on customer sentiment and the leading indicators it monitors. For full-year 2026, the company raised its net sales growth forecast in the mid- to high-single-digit range. It also increased reported earnings guidance to $10.92-$11.32 per share from $10.7-$11.1.

Celanese expects third-quarter adjusted earnings in the range of $1.35-$1.75 per share. For 2026, the company continues to expect adjusted earnings of approximately $6 per share. Celanese also maintained its full-year free cash flow guidance of $700-$800 million. CE expects growth initiatives and productivity, portfolio and footprint actions to support performance in 2026. These measures are also intended to create additional earnings growth opportunities in the years ahead while strengthening cash generation and supporting deleveraging.

Ashland, for fiscal 2026, reaffirmed sales guidance of $1.835-$1.87 billion and adjusted EBITDA outlook of $385-$400 million. The company revised its adjusted EPS outlook, excluding intangible amortization, to low-to-mid-single-digit growth from mid-to-high-single-digit growth due to a higher tax rate associated with unfavorable discrete items. Ongoing free cash flow conversion is expected to exceed 50% of adjusted EBITDA, with capital expenditures of approximately $90 million. Management expects continued sequential improvement in the fourth quarter as operations improve and recent pricing actions gain traction.
