HOOD Lowers 2026 Expense Outlook

CFO Shiv Verma lowered the upper end of Robinhood's 2026 adjusted operating expenses and share-based compensation outlook by $25 million. The revised range stands at $2.675 billion to $2.75 billion.

Verma attributed the reduction to operational efficiencies despite continued investments in new products. Third-quarter adjusted expenses and share-based compensation totaled $664 million, increasing 8% year over year.

During the Barclays Q&A, Verma identified Trump Accounts, credit cards and accelerated product development as near-term spending priorities. He maintained the approximately $100 million full-year investment expectation for Trump Accounts.

Robinhood Addresses Net Deposit Growth

Robinhood recorded $15.7 billion in third-quarter net deposits, representing a 17% annualized growth rate. Total platform assets increased 19% year over year to $396 billion.

Verma reported October net deposits exceeding $13 billion, including $6 billion from the Dell family's Trump Accounts contribution. Management indicated that year-to-date deposits had already surpassed its annual growth target.

Responding to Wolfe Research, Verma explained that existing customers recently contributed more to deposit growth as product adoption increased. He also emphasized that quarterly fluctuations should not overshadow longer-term customer asset accumulation.

HOOD Expands Its Prediction Markets Business

Prediction markets emerged as a significant growth area. Event contracts revenues reached $173 million, increasing more than sixfold year over year, while trading volume exceeded 16 billion contracts.

Verma highlighted Rothera's achievement of more than $100 million in annualized revenues during its first full operating quarter. Robinhood now has 14 businesses generating at least $100 million in annualized revenues.

During the Piper Sandler discussion, management addressed its partnerships with Crypto.com and OG.com alongside its Rothera exchange. Verma explained that the arrangements broaden customer selection and provide Robinhood with equity ownership opportunities without an initial cash outlay.

Robinhood Deepens Banking and Gold Integration

Chairman and CEO Vladimir Tenev emphasized banking's importance in retaining customer assets within Robinhood's ecosystem.

Robinhood Banking accumulated nearly $5 billion in deposits from more than 350,000 funded customers. Gold subscribers reached 5.2 million, increasing 34% year over year.

During the KeyBanc Q&A, Tenev explained that broader banking availability and independent customer onboarding would enable additional marketing opportunities. Verma distinguished banking expansion from credit card growth, which requires greater attention to credit risk and unit economics.

HOOD Advances Tokenization and International Expansion

Tenev highlighted Robinhood Chain's early adoption, including more than $50 million in chain fees and substantial decentralized exchange trading activity.

Responding to Citizens JMP, Verma clarified that approximately half of gross chain revenues were shared with Arbitrum. Management prioritized developer participation, tokenized assets and ecosystem growth over immediate revenue maximization.

International expansion remained another priority. Tenev discussed regulatory authorization in Dubai, preliminary approval in Singapore and continued development across established European markets.

Robinhood Maintains Its Product-Led Growth Focus

Management reiterated its emphasis on product adoption and deeper customer relationships rather than optimizing individual engagement metrics.

During the BTIG Q&A, Verma explained that monthly active users were an output metric rather than a direct operating target. Tenev pointed to upcoming products and younger customer acquisition as longer-term growth opportunities.

Robinhood enters the fourth quarter prioritizing customer deposits, operating efficiency and broader financial services adoption while continuing to invest in its product roadmap.

HOOD's Zacks Rank & Style Scores Signal Caution
