Fund Description

The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in equity securities of small companies. It focuses mainly on smaller U.S. companies with market capitalizations comparable to those in widely known indices such as the Russell 2000 Index or S&P SmallCap 600 Index, or small-company classifications published by Morningstar or Lipper. It seeks to achieve its objective primarily through common stocks, using fundamental and other research to identify companies with improving outlooks, capable management, and financial soundness, and may sell to secure gains, limit losses, or reposition assets.
