Fund Description
The fund was incepted in April 1993 and is managed by American Century Investment Management, Inc. The fund seeks a high level of income by investing in non-money market debt securities. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in high and medium grade, non-money market debt securities. The fund invests most of its assets in investment-grade securities, rated in one of the top four credit quality categories by an independent rating agency. The fund may invest to a limited extent in derivative instruments such as options, futures contracts, options on futures contracts, and swap agreements (including, but not limited to, credit default swap agreements), or in mortgage or asset backed securities. The fund declares dividends monthly and capital gains annually, usually in December.
