Fund Description
The fund was incepted in August 1987 and is managed by Capital Research and Management Company. The funds main objective is to seek high, long-term total return consistent with prudent management by investing in quality fixed-income securities issued by major world governments and corporations around the world and in the United States. This fund primarily invests in debt obligations denominated in currencies of Japan, Canada, Western Europe, New Zealand, Australia, the United States and multinational currency units. The fund may invest up to 25% of assets in bonds rated below investment-grade at the time of purchase, including bonds issued by developing country governments and companies. Dividends, if any, are paid in March, June, October and December. Capital gains, if any, are usually distributed in December.
