The fund, under normal circumstances, invests at least 80% of its net assets (including borrowings for investment purposes) in equity securities (including, but not limited to, common stocks, preferred stocks and securities convertible into common or preferred stocks) of companies with market capitalizations in the range of those in the Russell 2000?? Growth Index (the Index) at the time of purchase. It typically invests in common stocks of companies believed to have potential for long-term, above-average earnings growth, but may invest based on short-, medium- or long-term prospects and may emphasize sectors including health care, industrials and information technology. It may invest up to 20% of total assets in foreign securities directly or via depositary receipts, may invest in special situations including IPOs, tender offers, mergers, restructurings, management changes, and new technologies, and may trade frequently.
