Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 2002 and is managed by Columbia Wanger Asset Management, L.P. The fund seeks long-term total return. The fund pursues its investment goal by investing in other mutual funds. As a 'fund of funds,' under normal circumstances, the management allocates at least 95% of its net assets among a selected group of stock and bond mutual funds according to the current level of the S&P 500 Index in relation to predetermined ranges set by the fund's investment advisors. When the S&P 500 goes up, the fund sells a portion of its stock funds and invests more in the bond funds; and when the S&P 500 goes down, the fund increases its investment in the stock funds. Under normal circumstances, the fund may invest up to 5% of its net assets in high quality short-term paper and government securities. The fund distributes dividends semi-annually and capital gains, if any, annually.
