The fund seeks to maximize total returns by investing in a diverse range of U.S. and foreign debt securities maturing in three years or less from settlement. It focuses on obligations from governments, corporations, and supranational organizations, primarily prioritizing issuers in developed countries. The fund typically invests at least 80% of its net assets in fixed income securities maturing within two years and maintains a weighted average maturity not exceeding two years. Additionally, it may employ foreign currency forward contracts and derivatives to manage currency and interest rate exposure, with a non-fundamental policy to invest a minimum of 30% in non-U.S. issuers.
