Fund Description

The fund is a fund of funds that generally allocates assets among other funds managed by Dimensional Fund Advisors LP, with the ability to invest directly in securities and derivatives. Generally, the fund invests in domestic and international equity underlying funds and fixed income underlying funds to achieve an allocation of approximately 5% to 45% (with a target allocation of approximately 25%) to domestic and international equity underlying funds and approximately 55% to 95% (with a target allocation of approximately 75%) to fixed income underlying funds, and may adjust allocations or add or remove underlying funds without notice. Fixed income exposure may include U.S. and foreign government and other debt instruments, while equity exposure spans U.S., developed, and emerging markets, including REIT-focused funds. It intends, directly or indirectly through underlying funds, to invest to gain exposure to at least three different countries, including the United States, and the fund and/or certain underlying funds may use derivatives and other transactions (including futures and options on futures, foreign currency transactions, credit default swaps, and, for certain fixed income underlying funds, derivatives to establish short positions) and may lend portfolio securities.
