Fund Description

The fund was incepted in October1985 and is managed by John Hancock Advisors, LLC. The fund seeks long-term capital appreciation with moderate income as a secondary objective. The fund invests at least 80% of its assets in stocks of regional banks and other lending companies, including commercial and industrial banks, savings and loans associations and bank holding companies. The fund also invests 5% of its assets in stocks of companies and outside the financial services sectors and up to 5% of its net assets in Junk bonds. The fund distributes its dividends and capital gains, if any, annually.
