Fund Description
The fund was incepted in May 1993 and is managed by Franklin Advisers. The main objective of the fund is to provide a high level of income exempt from federal and California personal income taxes. The fund's secondary goal is capital appreciation. The fund invests at least 80% of its net assets in California municipal securities whose interest is free from regular federal income taxes and from California personal income taxes. The manager selects securities that it believes provides the best balance between risk and return within the fund's range of allowable investments and typically uses a buy and hold strategy. The fund offers dividends monthly. Capital gains, if any, are distributed annually.
