Fund Description

The fund seeks to achieve its objective by investing in securities or instruments and a combination of underlying funds for which Goldman Sachs Asset Management, L.P. or an affiliate acts as investment adviser or principal underwriter. Under normal conditions, at least 80% of total assets are allocated among underlying funds, with at least 80% of net assets plus borrowings invested in Underlying Equity Funds and equity securities with a blend of domestic large-cap, small-cap and international exposure to seek capital appreciation. It expects to invest a relatively significant percentage of its equity allocation in Underlying Funds that employ call writing strategies and emphasize dividend-paying stocks. It maintains a small strategic allocation to U.S. investment grade bonds, normally not exceeding 10% of total assets, and may invest up to 10% to implement tactical views using equities, pooled vehicles, fixed income (including non-investment grade) and derivatives. It may invest up to 20% directly in securities and instruments, including derivatives, hold non-U.S. dollar exposures, and establish short positions. Performance is measured against a composite comprised of MSCI ACWI IMI (Developed Markets FX 50% Hedged) (90%) and the Bloomberg U.S. Intermediate Treasury Index (10%).
