Fund Description

The fund was incepted in February 1993 and is managed by Goldman Sachs Asset Management. The objective of the fund is to seek long-term growth of capital and growth of income. The fund invests at least 65% of its total assets in equity investments that the investment adviser considers to have favorable prospects for capital appreciation and/or dividend-paying ability. Although the fund invests primarily in publicly traded U.S. securities, it may invest up to 25% of its assets in foreign securities, including securities quoted in foreign currencies. The fund may also invest up to 35% of its assets in fixed-income securities, such as government, corporate and bank debt obligations, that offer the potential to further the fund's investment objective. Dividends are distributed quarterly. Capital gains are distributed annually.
