Fund Description
The fund was incepted in September 1996 and is managed by HSBC Asset Management (Americas). The fund seeks long-term growth of capital by investing in equity securities of small cap emerging growth companies that are expected to show earnings growth over time that is well above the growth rate of the overall economy and the rate of inflation. The fund also seeks its objective by investing in the stocks of companies with unique growth opportunities, potential for above-average increases in revenues and earnings and exciting emerging new products and services and new technologies. The fund normally invests at least 80% of its assets in equity securities, of which at least 65% are equity securities issued by emerging growth companies. The fund may invest up to 20% of its assets in foreign securities. The fund may also invest in fixed income securities, which may include bonds, debentures, mortgage securities, notes, bills, commercial paper, and U.S. government securities. Dividends are distributed semi-annually. Capital gains are distributed annually.
